To Do This

1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5 - Post it to FB with this text in the "caption" or "comment" and TAG the friends you want to join in

"7 Unknown Things" Meme...

Interesting week over on facebook and with my friends on metblogs and our various readers.  A meme started flying.  At first I ducked but eventually I got tagged by Roger Jacobs who has his blog "Carver's Dog" who was tagged by Joseph Mailander who has the "Cocktail Circuit" blog...which I think I need to get hooked on since I do like a nice cocktail every now and then.  That's what we do when we're grown ups finally, right?  Guess the beer bong years are over.

 I have no idea who will respond.  My tagee's will be at the end.  The rules:

7 Unknown Things

1. I eat m&m's in color order, never mixing

2. I weighed a diaper once then tallied how much poo diapers I changed over the years with the kids...nearly 2 tons.  They owe me.  Dearly.

3. I lived in Death Valley for an entire year at Furnace Creek.

4. I never got a ticket I did not deserve.

5. My first speeding ticket I was 3 mph shy of going to jail...in a dealers loaner car.

6. I firmly believe in consumer guerrilla warfare.

7. A martini made with a jalapeno olive doesn't taste as good the second time around.

Every now and then I just like reading my various friends blogs.  I met Julia over a year ago at LA Metblogs.  She has her own blog, "Julia's Mexico City".  Today she ran one of those silly MEME thingy's called the 3r's.  Her post was funny.  Here are the questions and my answers (and snarky comments on the side.

1. YOUR ROCK STAR NAME (first pet, current car):  Snuffy Grand Marquis 

2. YOUR GANGSTA NAME (fave ice cream flavor, favorite type of shoe): Rocky Road Tennies (gonna be iced quick with that one down in the 'hood).

3. YOUR NATIVE AMERICAN NAME (favorite color, favorite animal): Yellow Dog (what, I'm chicken?)

4. YOUR SOAP OPERA NAME (middle name, city where you were born): Joseph Larium (not gonna make it with that handle now will I?)

5. YOUR STAR WARS NAME (the first three letters of your last name, first two of your first name): Zgofr (frazgo is way better) 

6. SUPERHERO NAME (2nd favorite color, favorite drink): Red Red Wine (wasn't that a lyric in a 80's song?)

7. NASCAR NAME (the first names of your grandfathers): Frank Frank (Actually you can go back several generations and have nothing but that choice, it ends with me though.)

8. STRIPPER NAME ( the name of your favorite perfume/cologne/scent, favorite candy):Kuros Velvet Crunch (not going there!)

9. TV WEATHER ANCHOR NAME (your fifth grade teacher’s last name, a major city that starts with the same letter): Rasche Riverside (not feeling the love on that one.)

10. SPY NAME (your favorite season/holiday, flower): Summer Rose (do I have to be a tranny for that one?)

11. CARTOON NAME (favorite fruit, article of clothing you’re wearing right now): Cherry Shorts (wasn't that a character in Fritz the Cat?)

12. HIPPIE NAME (What you ate for breakfast, your favorite tree): Cereal Mimosa (that one will get me far won't it?)

There you go, 12 inane instructions with equally ridiculous answers.  Can you do better?

Look...ornaments everywhere and it ain't Christmas! Yesterday I met an old friend and we went off to lunch in the Silver Lake area, Tropical Cafe was the name of the place. Cuban deli and highly recommend their classic Cuban Sandwich. Very good. Very Cheap...and no lines like you find at Porto's in Glendale.

I got invited to blog on the blogging.la site a couple of weeks ago. Invited because I was commenting on stuff and in short terrorizing a few judging by the reactions. But I did it to be the devil's advocate and make people think a bit. The cool thing is that I have met some cool new people in the deal. People cross our paths for a reason and its always good to let them in and see what develops.

One of the bloggers has tagged me in a meme game. Its sorta like the chain letter emails 'cept you just post on your own and wait for them to tag you back. The rules...

So -- the tagging/meme -- Here are the rules:
1: Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2: People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3: At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
4: Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Since I got tagged by Julia...she can now see I responded. I don't have 8 fellow bloggers in my chain yet so I guess there's a few lucky souls out there.

My 8:
1. I have lived in LA longer than anywhere else my entire life...22 years and counting.
2. I believe art should match your soul not your sofa.
3. My first drunk was with my best friends and the Parish priest on our 8th grade retreat.
4. Psychopharmacology has its purpose...just in small doses over short periods of time. Gimme a reset button in the form of a Benzodiazepine and all is well with the world in short order.
5. I love the Dr. Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell.
6. I own most of what Hunter S Thompson has written...I reread "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" often to remember to question the writers baggage and politics in general. (Maybe this is where I got the wild hair to support the whole states rights, Sage Brush Rebellion in the 80's)
7. I have no problem stirring the pot and watching it boil. Thats why blogs were a godsend for my id and ego.
8. I have no credit cards...I can't be trusted with the damn things.

So there you go my random 8. Now which of the group will shock you is the bigger question.
